Gameweek 1 of the EPL came to an end this past Monday and it was business as usual for the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool. We take a look at the players who performed well and those who disappointed.

The stars:

Raheem Sterling, Saido Berahino and Cesc Fabregas

Raheem Sterling and Saido Berahino continued where they had left off last season with energetic displays. The duo showed good pace, skill and were able to score goals. Cesc Fabregas’ return to the Premier league was a sweet one as the Spaniard looked silky smooth on the ball and created most of the chances for Chelsea. He ended the game with 2 assists.

The duds:

Mark Noble, Charlie Austin and lucas Leiva

Noble and Austin had forgettable games as the duo missed penalties that ultimately cost them teams. Lucas was very static in Liverpool’s midfield and failed to provide a defensive stability in midfield. The Brazilian was was outmuscled and was too slow for the likes of Wanyama and Tadic.
