The Stars

C.Lobo, Santos and Miranda

Cavin Lobo’s brace helped Atletico de Kolkata steal 3 points from the hands of FC Goa. His first goal came from an assist through Fikru Teferra as he blasted the ball in the net with fine control. The second was an absolute cracker from his left foot, giving no chance to Goa’s Jan Seda and silencing the home crowd. Lobo’s inclusion in the team for Atletico de Kolkata paid off extremely well for Coach Antonio Habas.

Andre Santos opened the scoring for FC Goa with a thunderous strike from the box. The former Arsenal player was swift with the ball and showed great determination in the game. His left leg was a venom to handle for Atletico de Kolkata as the winger combined well with Arsenal legend Robert Pires. He was deployed in an attacking position by manager Zico and could play there in the upcoming games as well.

Clifford Miranda’s impressive form in the Indian Super League continued. The left-winger was lively in the game showing great skill and pace. He was a busy customer on the left-flank and kept the Kolkata defense on their toes.

The Flops

Fikru, Nato and Martins

Fikru Teferra was fortunate today to stay on the pitch against FC Goa. His tussle with France’s Gregory Arnolin continued throughout the game showing his frustration and Arnolin’s tight defending. The Ethopian striker escaped a sure shot red card after a head-butt on Arnolin during the first-half interval. He did possess a threat for FC Goa but lacked fair play in this match.

Ofentse Nato did very little for his team in the midfield against Zico’s side. He was lazy with his passes and lost concentration in the game at regular intervals. The Botswana international wasn’t accurate with his passes and lost the ball cheaply in middle of the park.

Ranti Martins remained totally indecisive in his forward runs and made a number of off-sides. The Nigerian forward lacked the finishing touch which he is known for and was booked for his diving offence.
