Mohun Bagan’s technical director Subhash Bhowmick has revealed that a period of 4 years without a trophy is simply too long for a club like Mohun Bagan to go through and the main target for the next I-league season is to change that.

Bhowmick, who was re-hired as technical director by Bagan after a successful spell with Churchill Brothers, said, “Mohun Bagan has not won a single trophy during the last four years and as such we are taking it very seriously.”

The former Indian International was also satisfied with the steps taken by the club authorities in response to his requests, “I hope this would pay dividends as all the players are motivated to give their best in the matches.”

Bagan had a torrid time in the league last year as they finished 9th under Karim Bencherifa. The Bagan faithful will hope that the Mariners will perform under new chief coach  Sankarlal Chakraborty.
