Moritz, Subhash Singh and Dudu
Andre Moritz became the first ever player to score a hat-trick in the Indian Super League. He looked lively from the onset of the game and his 2 goals in the first half had killed Pune City FC then and there, making it difficult for the away side to get back in the game. The Brazilian traumatized Pune’s defense time and again making him the best player in the pitch. His 3rd goal for Mumbai City ensured their famous thumping at D.Y.Patil stadium as he now tops the list for the highest goals.
Subhash Singh was one of the other scorers alongside Moritz and Letzelter for Mumbai City after they completed their famous victory in the derby against Pune FC. With the blow of the whistle, Singh looked a bright prospect for Ranbir Kapoor’s team as his pace and trickery proved to be a nightmare for Pune’s sandcastle defense. The young Indian forward’s running throughout the turf was immeasurable as he smashed a goal past Belardi in the first-half.
Dudu seemed to be the only Pune FC player who looked to be in the game against Mumbai City. The Nigerian forward worked hard for his team but was left hapless after a frustrating display from his side.
The Flops
Cirillo, Trezguet and Costa
Bruno Cirillo was mainly the culprit behind the 2 goals scored by their counterparts Mumbai City. His defending was simply rookie failing to avoid a humiliation from the hands of their rivals. Pune FC’s main reason for their infamous thumping was unarguably the Italian veteran.
Pune FC skipper David Trezguet looked to be an off-show for the visitors. His only involvement in the game came when his bicycle kick had hit the cross-bar. Nevertheless, the French striker didn’t score in the game and yet again, proved to be a total failure for his team.
Peter Costa looked the only weaklink in the Mumbai FC side in the local derby against Pune FC. Though it was a standout performance from the Mumbai laden team, the Indian defender looked ordinary with some errors committed on the right flank.
