The Italian FA confirmed yesterday that ISL’s Pune franchise have signed Emanuele Belardi and Bruno Cirillo on free transfers.

Goal keeper Belardi last played for Italian side Pescara and had a 2-year stint with Seria A giants Juventus where he was the understudy to Gigi Buffon. He has made 230 appearances in his senior club career.

Center back Bruno Cirillo has had a more distinguished career than his fellow signing Belardi. Cirillo won the UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship in the year 2000. His performances in the u-21 level did not go unnoticed as Inter Milan signed him up. He made only 17 appearances for the Nerazzurri before being being shipped out to Lecce. Cirillo has also represented Greek sides AEK Athens and PAOK.

Both the players were active till the last season and are around their mid thirties, overall a brilliant piece of business by Pune.
