Mumbai City FC player Syed Rahim Nabi insists that despite a series of inconsistent performances,  his side will try their best to win the game for the fans when they face Delhi Dynamos at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai tonight.

The Ranbir Kapoor owned club has had a roller coaster of a tournament so far, winning just two games out of their five outings, including a dominating 5-1 win over FC Pune City last month.

They lost their next two games against NorthEast United FC and Chennaiyin FC before registering another win over the Kerala Blasters on Sunday. Currently sixth in the Indian Super League’s points table, the Maharashtra based club is just one point behind the fourth placed FC Pune City, and will be hoping to continue their winning momentum when they take on Harm van Veldhoven’s side.

And Nabi, who leads the Mumbai outfit, feels the team is raring to put up a great show for their supportive fans and get a good result.

We are playing for our fans. They will inspire us to do our best. We want to repay them for being so supportive even when we were faltering,” the 28-year-old was quoted as saying by ISL’s official website.

We thrashed Pune by five goals and most people said that we were the side to beat.

“All of a sudden we lost two games and everyone said that we will not qualify for the semi-finals. At the beginning of the tournament, people were calling us potential champions, but I believe we are gelling together well now and will get some good results”, the Bengal native further explained.

Mumbai will be looking to bag an important three points at home today and reach the top half of the table, before they face FC Goa on Sunday and then Kerela Blasters on 12th November in their two back to back away games.
