So far it’s been a good weekend for Manchester United.

Not only have they not lost a football match (yeah, we know) but they’ve also smashed their transfer record and it also looks like Wayne Rooney will be signing a new deal at Old Trafford, with obscene numbers such as £300,000-a-week being banded around in some places.

What’s more, it would appear that he may soon be joined by some new pals.

Simon Mullock reports in today’s Sunday Mirror that David Moyes is ready with £20million-plus offers for Newcastle’s Yohan Cabaye and Southampton’s Luke Shaw.

Next up is our round-up of the morning’s back pages, which as you’d expect are bulging with transfer goodness.

There are reports that Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have reached a verbal agreement on Diego Costa in the Metro, plus rumours of a new defender for Manchester City and a new name on Liverpool’s radar.

We’ll start by reminding you that the biggest deal of the window was completed last night, when Manchester United doctors finished prodding Juan Mata and the Spaniard signed on the dotted line, causing something strange to happen with David Moyes’ face. Is that a smile?
