15 year old Yan Dhanda made some headlines recently after he became the 1st ever player of Indian origin to represent Liverpool at the end of last month.

Dhanda, who was born in Birmingham, grew up in Walsall, Villa, Birmingham and West Brom when he was seven. He decided to join the West Brom academy when he was nine. Dhanda’s footballing skills did not go unnoticed as Arsenal and Liverpool were fighting it out to sign the teen last year.

Although his  debut game for the Liverpool u-16 team ended in defeat, Dhanda was a live wire as he played some delightful passes and showed some neat trickery with his feet.

The teenager also made his England u-16 debut in early February and scored a brace. Although he represented England at that level, the new rules by FIFA allows a player to represent another country depending on certain conditions. Dhanda was pictured with an Indian flag in the Liverpool academy and this has fuelled hopes that the teenager will go on to represent India in the near future.

Here is a clip of Dhanda playing for the England u-16 side. Dhanda’s kit number is 14.
