In yet another clash of the titans encounter tonight, Germany take on Portugal tonight in the Group G clash at Salvador.  A lot of big names and a lot of expectations from the game tonight, this is definitely one game for anyone following the World Cup to closely watch.

Cristiano Ronaldo vs Phillip Lahm

The World’s best player according to around one half of the population, Portuguese captain Ronaldo will be looking to inspire his side to a victory over a German side which is billed amongst favorites. You will see him lock horns with his German counterpart who is again a player any side could dream to have. Lahm might just win over Ronaldo considering the tendonitis injury Ronaldo is said to be nursing.

This is a dream showdown for any fan of the sport , so let us leave it to these two to fight it out and figure out a winner later this night at Salvador.

Mario Goetze vs Fabio Coentrao

Mario Goetze will most probably be playing down the right side for Germany as his Bayern Munich team mate Thomas Mueller is expected to take the role of the striker in Joachim Loew’s line up tonight. Goetze is an exciting young player and he will be going up against the Real Madrid left back Coentrao. Coentrao is  a very pacy attack minded wingback who along with Ronaldo on the same wing might prove to be a nightmare for his German opposition. But will lack of playtime at Real Madrid might affect his performance ?

Bastian Schweinsteiger vs Joao Moutinho

schw

30 year old Schweinsteiger is always key to Germany’s success in any game they play and he rarely disappoints his team mates or fans . He will be orchestrating the German midfield like he’s done for several years now . Joao Moutinho for Portugal is again no mean player to have in the line up, Portugal will be looking forward to Moutinho to ensure that it’s  front 3 of Ronaldo , Nani and Postiga get  a good supply of chances .

Amongst these players there are plenty of others like Thomas Mueller, Toni Kroos , Mesut Ozil , Nani and Joao Pereira who you could watch and enjoy. Hope this one turns out to be a cracker of a game tonight !
