Relegated I-League club, Mohammedan Sporting, are fuming after after Australian striker Tolgay Ozbey appeared for Dempo in their last meeting on March 22nd. Dempo eventually won the game 1-0 through Ozbey’s strike in the 77th minute.

A Mohammedan Sporting official stated, “We’ll move the AIFF appeals committee. How can a player, who had been with us in the current season, play against us? The transfer was okayed after it was decided that Tolgay wouldn’t play against Mohammedan Sporting.

“We could have fielded Rakesh Masih against Salgaocar, but never did it, certain norms have to be followed,” he added.

If Mohammedan win the appeal then they will save themselves from relegation as they’ll end up with a points tally of 27, two more than Churchill and Rangdajied. This would mean that Rangdajied will end up being relegated as Churchill have a better head-to-head record against them.
