Former World Cup winner and Premier League legend Robert Pires is the the latest big name set to feature in the Indian Super League (ISL).

The former French international, who has been training with Arsenal to keep himself fit, spoke to RTL and said,  “I’m on the shortlist to go to India and I cannot wait to be there.

“The shortlist is what we would simply call a ‘draft’, just like the Americans do in basketball. The Indians use it for cricket. That’s what they want to do with football.

“We’ll see what happens, but it should start at the beginning of 2014.”

The 40-year old retired attacker scored 126 goals in 529 appearances at club level and is expected to light up the ISL.
