Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany was delighted with his side’s performance, after a Sergio Aguero hat-trick inspired the Citizens to a 3-2 win over Bayern Munich in their Champions League game last night.

The Argentine’s shot from the penalty spot in the 21st minute after Mehdi Benatia was sent off for a foul, put Manuel Pellegrini’s side ahead, but a shot off Xabi Alonso’s free-kick and a Robert Lewandowski header in the 40th and 45th minutes respectively ensured that the Germans were in the front seat at the end of the first half.

But in a dramatic turn of events towards the end of the game, Aguero scored twice in the last ten minutes to win it at home for the Sky Blues as the Premier League’s defending champions registered their first win in the European tournament’s group stage.

And while Kompany is ecstatic after his side pulled off an unlikely victory, he hopes they can continue their winning momentum and make it to the knockout phase when they travel to Rome to face AS Roma on 10th December.

It is a good win – whichever way you look at it you are beating one of the top teams in Europe”, the Belgian international was quoted as saying by UEFA’s official website.

We have done it a few times recently so it is good. I think we are better with our backs against the wall anyway and we go to Rome now and it is going to be an incredible game for everyone.

“We have shown with our performances in the league that we never give up anyway so we did that tonight again”, the 28-year-old defender added.
